DPNR Co-Sponsors Plumbers Workshop

Feb. 13, 2008 – The Division of Environmental Protection and the Small Business Environmental Assistance Program will co-sponsor the 2008 Plumbers Workshop in conjunction with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and the VI Plumbers Association. The workshop will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Hotel, according to a press release from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources.
DPNR Commissioner Robert Mathes said, "The goal of the workshop is to provide information on the 2006 Plumbing Code and information on environmental requirements for the plumbing industry."
The DPNR is involved because it is in the businesses of protecting the environment and working with all entities to ensure that they have knowledge and understanding of the requirements as it relates to their industry.
John Jordan Jr. is the principal trainer for the workshop. He has been IAPMO-certified in the Uniform Plumbing Code since 1995 and is licensed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. He teaches for the Institute of Continuing Education for license renewal of all Texas state plumbing licenses.
