Brief: Special Police Unit Confiscates Several Weapons


Feb. 25, 2008 — The V.I. Police Department's Special Operations Bureau confiscated several weapons on St. Thomas Sunday and arrested three men on weapons charges.
John Graneau, Hyram Graneau and Omar Smith were arrested in the area of Smith Bay for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, according to a police news release. Police confiscated a Colt 25 and a 380 PMK. The suspects were unable to post bail and were remanded to custody.
Also on Sunday, two weapons were confiscated from a parked car in the Savan area. The bureau picked up a .357 Smith and Wesson with eight rounds of ammunition and a Glock 23 40 caliber with 19 rounds of ammunition.
