Brief: Christiansted Bypass Topic of Town Hall Meeting Saturday

Feb. 29, 2008 — A town hall meeting Saturday morning will give people a chance to tell public officials their concerns about construction work for the Christiansted Bypass.
The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Florence Williams Library Conference Room in Christiansted. St. Croix Administrator Pedro "Pete" Encarnacion will hear concerns from homeowners and residents, as will representatives from the Department of Public Works and the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division.
"My office has recently been receiving numerous calls regarding the construction of the Christiansted Bypass, particularly as it relates to noise, dust, and heavy traffic in the area," Encarnacion said, according to a news release. "Consequently, we are calling this town hall meeting, in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, to address the concerns of homeowners and residents and in order to find solutions, wherever possible. We look forward to engaging with the community on these important issues."
