Brief: No Serious Injuries in School Bus Accident

March 28, 2008 — No students were injured Friday afternoon when a school bus that had just picked them up from Joseph Gomez Elementary School in Tutu collided with a parked car.
The bus rolled down a hill, hitting a parked car where a woman and girl were sitting, according to Traffic Commander Sgt. Rosalyn Jarvis. The bus pushed the car about 33 feet into two other unoccupied parked vehicles.
The woman and child were transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center by ambulance, Jarvis said. They did not appear to be seriously injured, she said. The hospital emergency room had no information on the incident.
The accident happened at 2:45 p.m., just as school was letting out. All 43 children in the bus were uninjured, but another bus was sent to pick them up, Jarvis said.
Police are continuing an investigation into the cause of the accident.
