Police Make Two Arrests in Separate Incidents

Two men were arrested Tuesday, May 4, by police on St. Thomas investigating a pair of separate incidents.

Roycott Davis, 40, a resident of Estate Tutu, was arrested and charged with grand larceny shortly after 8:30 p.m. According to the police, on Tuesday, April 20, Davis stole a chain from a female victim near Kronprindsens Gade. Unable to post $35,000 bail he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.

At about 11:15 a.m. the same day, Nathaniel Sumayah, 24, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with an incident which occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, March 31. Police said a 19-year-old male victim was shot multiple times near the Bergs Home Housing Community and was transported by ambulance to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officers recovered a 9 millimeter handgun from the scene. Bail for Sumayah was set at $150,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.

Also on Tuesday, May 4 at about 6:51 p.m. officers were advised of a first-degree robbery in the Estate Anna’s Retreat area. A 55-year-old male victim told police he was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown male suspects who took his backpack containing clothing and a cell phone.
