Clorox Used in Crimes, Police Say

Bleach is something you use to clean things, but it was recently used for some dirty deeds, police on St. Thomas said.

Police arrested a woman and detained a 14-year-old female minor, both of whom allegedly used Clorox to commit their crimes. The woman used bleach to destroy a victim’s personal property, and, in a separate case, the minor caused her foster sister to nearly consume a drink laced with the chlorine bleach.

Nichole Potter, 27, was arrested minutes after midnight Wednesday and charged with destruction of property/domestic violence for pouring Clorox on her boyfriends’ clothing at a residence in Estate Frydendahl.

Bail was denied due to the domestic charge and she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

The minor was detained minutes before 5 p.m. Tuesday and charged with second-degree assault. Police said she mixed clorox and lemon lime soda in a bottle and placed it in the refrigerator.

When her 16-year-old foster sister attempted to drink the mixture, she spat it out realizing it was Clorox. The victim was uninjured and did not seek any medical attention. The minor was remanded to the custody of the Department of Human Services.
