Innovative has signed on as a sponsor of Addelita Cancryn Junior High School’s annual Book Parade, promoting literacy. On April 15, students will participate in the 10th annual Cancryn Oral Reading Exchange (C.O.R.E) Book Parade. The primary objective of C.O.R.E. is to improve students’ reading, writing and comprehension skills. This year’s theme is “Science Fiction: An Exploration of the Real and Imaginary World Beyond.” Students will read literature and prepare presentations for demonstration at the school and on the parade route.
Yvonne Pilgrim, the school’s principal, said, “On behalf of the students at Addelita Cancryn Junior High School, I would like to express my gratitude to Innovative for supporting our literacy initiatives. By serving as the presenting sponsor, Innovative is ensuring that we will be able to showcase our talented students and reward the hard work exhibited by the participants.”
Jennifer Matarangas-King, vice president of public relations and governmental affairs for the Innovative Companies, said, “At Innovative, we are committed to investing in our community. We are most supportive of educational initiatives and youth-oriented programs that have a history of tangible results.”
In addition to providing financial support to one of Innovative’s official adopted schools, Innovative employees, particularly Addelita Cancryn Junior High School alumni, are encouraged to participate in the preparation for the Book Parade and future school activities.
“Innovative has a large number of dynamic employees who attended the schools and participated in the programs that we currently support. As we move forward, we want to ensure that students have an opportunity to interact with role models in our community who are Innovative employees,” said Matarangas-King.
