Beatrice Maude Murraine, 83, formerly of Ross Estate, died in Arlington, Texas, on March 18. She was a native of Antigua who had resided in the Virgin Islands since 1967. Her husband, Samuel Ernest "Chief" Murraine, preceded her in death in September of 1986.
Survivors include her children: Nolda Joseph, Eileen Murraine, P. Constance Estrill, Ceciline Turnbull, Lois Rivera, Orneal "John" Murraine, Attorney Fitzgerald Murraine, Vanier "Pee Wee" Murraine and Vernell Drew; stepson, Conrad Murraine; sons-in-law: Roy Estrill Sr., Dean Turnbull Sr., Marvin Rivera Sr. and Attorney Alton Drew; and daughters-in-law: Lorie Murraine, Nelda Murraine and Maria Murraine. She was preceded in death by son, Craig Murraine, and son-in-law, Sydney Joseph.
She is also survived by brothers: Eustace Joseph, Auchland Joseph and Bernard Joseph; uncle, Arthur "Gaty" Joseph; nephew, Edmund (Harry) Cornelius; nieces: Coralie George and Eloise "Babs" Charles; 29 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and best friends: Janet Griffith, Dixie Gillies and the church family of Ebenezer Memorial Baptist Church.
A viewing will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. There will also be a viewing from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 30, followed by a funeral service at Ebenezer Memorial Baptist Church, Estate Contant. Internment: will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
