Police Confiscate Firearm in Estate Whim

Police arrested two men and confiscated a firearm Wednesday during a routine patrol in Estate Whim.

Eiljah Jackson, 31, of Estate Whim, and Edwin A. Hendrickson, 25, of Estate Hannah’s Rest, were both arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

At about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday police on routine patrol noticed a vehicle partially blocking the road near the Whim ballpark. Accordng to the police report, the officers detected the odor of marijuana as they approached the vehicle. The two occupants, later identified as Jackson and Hendrickson, were asked if they were smoking marijuana. They told officers yes and indicated they did not have any more drugs in the vehicle.

They were asked to exit the vehicle and consented to a search of the car, police say. Officers discovered a black 9 mm handgun and a magazine with live ammunition in it hidden in the vehicle and the men were arrested.

The suspects were held on a $25,000 bail which they were unable to post and they were remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
