Brief: WAPA Suspends Water Conservation Schedule

1

The V.I. Water and Power Authority will suspend the St. Thomas water conservation schedule beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Uninterrupted water service will resume until further notice in Kirwan Terrace, Lindbergh Bay, Contant, Anna’s Fancy, Altona, Solberg, Upper Savan, Agnes Fancy, Frenchtown, Upper Hospital Ground, Berg’s Home, Paul M. Pearson Gardens, Estate Thomas, and Tutu High Rise.

According to St. Thomas Water Director Noel Hodge, water storage levels have improved over the last week. It is important, however, that customers continue conservation efforts in their homes and businesses as the territory is in the midst of a dry season, and the demand for potable water is high, Hodge cautioned.

Hodge said he is pleased that customers will be able to enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend with full water service and expressed appreciation to all customers for their patience while the conservation schedule was in effect.
