McKenzie’s Way Holds First Women and Girls Symposium

The St. Croix Career & Technical Education Center will be conducting its first McKenzie’s Way Women and Girls Symposium and Fun Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. This year’s theme is “Women Empowering Each Other.” These activities are designed to help our mothers, women, and girls understand their role within the community, and to provide them with the resources available to them throughout the private and public sectors.
Planned activities include presentations on:
Nutrition and Health Tie-dye Shirt Making
Wellness and Fitness Baking
Domestic Violence Upholstery
Blood Pressure, HIV and Diabetes Testing
Self Defense Seminar
American Red Cross Volunteerism and Services
Auto Mechanics
Self-Esteem and Etiquette for Young Ladies Architectural Drafting
Gardening and Agriculture Carpentry and Wood Crafts
Jewelry-Making Outdoor Power Equipment
Soap and Candle Making
Learn Origami
Dancing (Zumba, Belly Dancing) Story-Telling
Piloting and Careers in Aviation for Women
Arts & Crafts
Prizes and trophies awarded for these competitions: chess, checkers, scrabble, Uno, double dutch and many more. Childcare service is available and must be pre-arranged.
