St. Croix Hotel and Tourism Association Launches Christy Starfish

The United States Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association (USVIHTA) (www.usvi.com) and the St Croix Hotel and Tourism Association (SCHTA) launched the Christy Starfish signage program in April in an effort to aid visitors so they can see and do more while traveling on St. Croix.
The Christy Starfish is a color coded signage program that allows visitors to easily get from one place to another on the island of St. Croix. A pocket size map is also available to aid and allows for quick and efficient travel through the area while also reminding visitors to stay on the left hand side while driving.
Color coding is simple and is featured in five vibrant colors – Christy Starfish in the color orange alerts travelers to go in the direction of the East End Loop while blue shows the way to the North Shore. Green signifies the rainforest, red points drivers in the direction of Centerline and yellow marks the roads to the airport and towns.
Julie Printy, president of the SCHTA, said the Christy Starfish color coded signage is another way the association is working to ensure visitors can find their way to the best activities and attractions on the island. "It’s our goal to make driving easier so that those who visit the island can see all that we have to offer," he said, adding that each area has unique and historic qualities for guests to see and enjoy while visiting St. Croix.
"As a travel destination, we know that seeing and enjoying each part of the island can make St Croix not only a trip to remember but also a place guest will want to return to time and time again."
