Tickets Now Available for 2013 USVI Presidential Inaugural Ball

The 340 Group has announced a ball to celebrate the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States. The black-tie event will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Hilton Springfield Hotel & Resort, 6550 Loisdale Road, Springfield, Virginia, 22150. It will be held from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a reception starting at 6 p.m.
Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is confirmed as the keynote speaker as she proudly serves in the 112th Congress, representing the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands. An invitation has been extended to the John P. deJongh Jr., governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), and other key government officials, business colleagues, local constituents and friends of the Virgin Islands to attend this 57th presidential inaugural celebration.
The star-studded line up of award-winning Virgin Island entertainers will include: Grammy Award winner and band leader, Dion Parson and the 21st Century Band. The septet includes percussionist Alioune Faye, steel pan wizard Victor Provost, Dion Parson and a melody section consisting of trumpeter Marcus Printup, saxophonist Ron Blake, and a harmony section of pianist Carlton Holmes and bassist Reuben Rodgers. Rudy Faulkner, vocalist, will also make a special guest appearance. In addition to jazz, the musicians will also play a variety of traditional dance tributes of quelbe/quadrille music of the V.I.
Early Bird Tickets are $100 per person, when purchased by Dec. 20, 2012 and are available online at www.usviball.com. The Hilton Inaugural rate for attendees of the USVI Ball is $250 per night, plus 9 percent tax. This rate is available Jan. 18-21.
