Police Investigate Two Robberies

The Virgin Islands Police are investigating a pair of robberies that took place Tuesday.

According to reports, a man walked into the Richard Callwood Command on St. Thomas Tuesday and reported he had been robbed. The incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m.

The victim told officers he was walking on Fifth Street when he was approached by two men, and one was armed with a handgun. The suspects robbed him of $20 and walked away from the area.

On St. John, officers are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Love City Mini Mart just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the preliminary investigation, officers said the store manager and an employee were closing the business when a suspect dressed in a black hoodie, black ski mask, black shirt, pants and shoes, entered carrying a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect grabbed an envelope containing approximately $200 and several phone cards before leaving the store.

Both cases are being followed up by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
