Friends and relatives are advised of the death of Geraldine A. Bridgewater-Hodge, better known as “Jean.” She died on Aug. 9 at age 85.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia (Gerda) Holiner Byam/ Harrigan; father, Arthur Leslie Bridgewater; brother, Ashley Richards; and sister, Heidi Bridgewater.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Hodge; son, Russell Bridgewater-Foy, PhD.; honorary children: Wilfred Edward Foy Jr., Jennice Foy, Rev. Dr. Errol Connor, Joycelyn Connor, Roxann McMahon Gumbs and Ron Gumbs; stepchildren: Amy Hodge Grant and Eugene Grant, Randy Hodge, Raymond Hodge Jr., Rudolph Hodge and Roan Hodge; grandchildren: Devon Foy, Dr. Trayvon Foy DDS, Shenice Brotherson, Summer Grant, Skye Grant and Rudolph Hodge Jr,; sisters-in-law: Agatha Smith and Cynthia Hodge; and brother-in-law, Wilfred Smith.
She is also survived by godchildren: Minnie Raymond, Aubrey Dawson, D’Shoe Xavier, Derante Xavier, Theolinda Livingstone and Alexus Gumbs; and honorary cousins: Juanita Williams, Pamela Williams Murray and Garth Murray, Gwendolyn Ryan and Naomi Aaron Henry;
Other survivors include special cousins: Stacey Longford Patsy Brown, Charles Byam, George Byam, Leo Byam, Fernella Dorbeck, Gloria Byam, Joseph Byam, Elvin Byam, Charles Byam, Ruth Robinson, Foster Bridgewater, Gwendolyn Bridgewater, Natasha Bridgewater Gumbs, Oscar Bridgewater, Stephanie Bridgewater, Anthony Williams (Tony), Donna Ferris, Denise Ferris, Avril Williams Maynard, Victoria Williams (Vicki), Eshelle Williams, Inez Brooks and family, Ira Aaron, Pastor Leroy Aaron, Pastor Calvert Aaron, Alwin Aaron, Phylis Aaron, Rosemary Aaron David, Roy Livingston, Pamela Larson as well as additional Aaron family in Antigua and on St. Thomas; and special friends: Rosita Lewis, Cleone Parrot Claxton, Lois Felix, Monique Richards, Inga Lanclos and Islyn Aska.
The first viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will be held at 8:30 a.m. with funeral services following at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, at Nisky Moravian Church.
