SGVBG Will Present Its Second Saturday Program

0

Did you know that 80 percent of our flowering plants and one third of our human food crops depend on pollinators? Focusing on three local and important pollinators, participants will explore the inside of a beehive, watch hummingbirds at work, and take a peak at a colony of bats, while learning what a pollinator is and how we depend on them Make sure to bee here for the fun and to make your own hummingbird feeder to take home.
This is an exciting and interactive program for children and parents to learn about the wonders of the plant world. Workshops are held from 9 a.m. to noon on the Second Saturday of each month in the Bodine Visitors' Center at the St. George Village Botanical Garden. Reservations are essential as the number of participants is limited; call 692-2874 to sign up. There is a $5 per person fee for the workshop. Children ages 6 and up are invited and must be accompanied by an adult.
