Animal Planet, the cable channel devoted to the animal kingdom, will be campaigning at Tutu Park Mall Saturday for V.I. cable customers to vote for the channel's inclusion on Innovative Cable TV St. Thomas-St. John.
The cable company has asked viewers to vote on which one of a dozen cable channels to add to its offerings. Among those vying for the spot are BBC America, Tech TV, Fox Sports Network and MSNBC.
Animal Planet's "campaign headquarters" will be at the mall from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, and patrons can cast their vote for Animal Planet and have the chance to win prizes. There will be guest appearances by Animal Planet's Jasper the Rabbit, face painting, a balloon artist, a "Croc Hunter" cutout for photos and a drawing to win a 6-foot plush crocodile.
Viewers will have a "sneak peek" at Animal Planet on cable beginning Monday, March 26 through April 1. For more information, visit their Web site.
