CHRISTMAS HARBOUR NIGHT IN FREDERIKSTED

Harbour Night, a Caribbean street festival, will take place 7 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Dec. 20 on on the waterfront at Strand Street in Frederiksted.
This will be the last Harbour Night before Christmas and Santa Claus will be on hand to give out goodies, with his helpers from the Women's Coalition of St.Croix. They will also be raising funds by offering photos with Santa.
Two cruise ships will be in port, Carnvial Victory and Maasdam, with 5,800 passengers. A heavy local turn out is also expected.
Holiday shoppers will be able to chose gifts from over 50 arts and crafts vendors and entertainment will be provided by Noel's Band, Lava, Dem Boys, Steel-O-Phonics, Karamu Afi Dance and Drum Troupe, and Willard John's Mocko Jumbies.
"Crucian Fruits," a musical stage production takes place at Fort Frederik during each Harbour Night, with two shows per evening.
The production is an exciting musical that uses song, dance, and dramatic narrative to explore the Crucian culture. Tickets are $24.95. Locals and hotel guests receive a 40% discount. Times vary.
This event is scheduled every two weeks through April 1, 2001.
