July 6, 2007 The Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA) and Innovative Cable TV – St. Croix have again joined to award a $1,000 contribution to the Queen Louise Home for the Children, according to a press release from Innovative Cable TV.
ICTV President and General Manager Jennifer Matarangas-King was on hand this morning to personally award the grant to La Shawn Soto, executive director at the home. Matarangas-King said this is the second consecutive year that the Queen Louise Home is chosen because of the outstanding service and assistance it provides to the community.
The CCTA's Community Charities Program, established in 1993, has awarded more than $170,000 to Caribbean charities. It traditionally awards 10 grants per year. However, over the years, the interest in this program has grown substantially. All 17 of the 2007 nominees were worthy organizations, so the association's board of directors voted unanimously to award grants to all.
Formed in 1983, the CCTA represents cable and telecommunications providers throughout the Caribbean, as well as the programmers, software and hardware suppliers that support them.
