Pump Boys and Dinettes Will Have Five More Performances

June 18, 2008 – "Pump Boys and Dinettes" continues for two more weekends at the Caribbean Community Theatre. Performances will be held at 8 p.m., on Friday and Saturday evenings, June 20-21, and 27-28, with a Sunday matinee at 4 p.m., on June 22.
The pump boys sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country, and the dinettes, Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and off Broadway. The Tony-nominated musical revue was conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann.
It is directed by Eileen Bishop Des Jardins with music direction by Patrick Baron. Vic Jackson, Ryan Nugent and Nick Tyler play the pump boys and the dinettes are played by the mother-daughter team of Judi and Keeli Fricks. Accompanying the singers are Patrick Baron on piano, Carl Beckstedt on guitar, Peter Des Jardins on bass, Will Hart on pedal steel guitar and dobro, and Chris Simmons on drums.
All performances will be at the Caribbean Community Theatre, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted. Tickets are sold at the door: $15 for adults and $8 for students. No reservations; arrive early for best seating.
