How can this be possible? Prior to engaging in the EDC program, these businessmen hired armies of professional tax attorneys, accountants and advisors, some who were previously employed with the IRS, to look into the laws and the rules of the EDC program to verify that they would be acting within the existing law at the time, and in a manner allowable by law. Their actions were fully disclosed to the VI Government, who promptly approved what it was they intended to do. So with the blessings of all of these professionals and the Government, they conducted their business.
Now, they are being accused of breaking the law? How could so many professionals be that wrong about the law?
This seems un-constitutional and un-American. A sad statement on the status of the Treasury of the USA.
