The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) will hold a public meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the St. Thomas Yacht Club to discuss the revision of the Bovoni Cay Severe Weather Mooring Plan.
Topics that will be addressed are the addition of a large vessel zone within the existing mooring system and the placement of 20 additional small vessel moorings.
The plan revision will include large and small vessel zones. Large vessels are defined as greater than or equal to 26 feet but less than or equal to 65 feet length on deck with a beam greater than or equal to 16 feet but less than or equal to 30 feet. Small vessels are defined as greater than or equal to 26 feet but less than or equal to 65 feet length on deck with a beam less than or equal to 15 feet. The Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) is seeking public opinion on the revised plan.
Interested persons are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide comments for inclusion by the department.
