DHPR Launches Learn to Swim Program

The Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation will be conducting “A Learn to Swim Program” at the Vincent Mason Sr. Pool in Frederiksted on Saturdays commencing Oct. 1 and ending Dec. 17.
"Recognizing that we live on an island, this initiative, which is made possible thanks to the department’s After School Program and the Annual Sports Camp, is an effort to provide opportunities for our residents, particularly the youths, to learn to swim. With so many residents in our community who are unable to swim, I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity," Commissioner Williams said.
The swimming sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The “Learn to Swim Program” is free for youths 14 years and under. There will be a fee for all others at $10 per session, or $40 for the overall program. Space is limited.
