April 18 through 24, is the Week of the Young Child. This year's theme is "Early Years are Learning Years – Make Them Count."
Dr. Ruby Simmonds, acting commissioner of education, cautions parents and guardians to allow children to enjoy the few years of being one.
Dr. Simmonds also asks us to look after the youngest members among us who may be more vulnerable and dependent on those of us who are entrusted with providing their needs.
