Dear Source:
If your readers are anything like my husband and me, you may be finding some long, long, long lost friends and acquaintances turning up for the Sinbad festival….
Theyll sleep anywhere — the couch, the cot, the living room floor….ANYWHERE. They just want to come. And theres not a hotel they can find to accommodate them.
And even though its been so very long since you last saw or even heard from them, you want to help out. They offer to pay you, but thats kind of awkward. And its not about money, its about gearing up to share your home, your life, with virtual strangers.
Heres what were going to do: ask our houseguests to make a donation to KIDSCOPE — a donation of a couple of hundred dolllars….a donation that in some way reflects what it would have cost them to stay at a moderate hotel.
Its a little way that weve identified in our effort to help support KIDSCOPE, an agency which works day and night to help save our children.
We wanted to share our idea with you
and we hope that other readers will share their ideas with us.
