The Barbers, Beauticians and Manicurists' Board will schedule a public hearing on hair braiding to establish rules and regulation, but in the meantime, the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs has placed a 120-day moratorium on issuing licenses.
Andrew Rutnik, acting commissioner of DLCA, said the regulations will cover sanitary issues, congestion in Charlotte Amalie and at local beaches and enforcement.
