Air travel will become a little cheaper as one of the dominant carriers in the region, American Eagle, begins offering reduced "Caribbean Islander" fares from its San Juan hub, according to a Puerto Rico Newswire report.
The fares, some as low as $49 with only a three-day advance purchase, are available to residents traveling on specified flights to or from Antigua, Tortola, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. Maarten, the report said.
Purchased three days in advance, the one-way fare between San Juan and St. Thomas, St. Croix or Tortola is $49. The fare is $69 purchased one day in advance.
Purchased three days in advance, one-way fare between San Juan and Antigua, St. Kitts or St. Maarten is $59. The fare is $79 one day in advance.
The fares are not valid Feb. 19-20, Feb. 26-27, Dec. 28-30 or Jan. 1-10.
