The general public is invited to attend the Womens Business Center Orientation Conference on Aug. 18 at Gertrudes Restaurant. The conference begins at 9 a.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m., and ends at 3 p.m.
The conference will provide participants with details of this important resource center that is focused on empowering women in the Virgin Islands through long-term business training, counseling, mentoring and networking opportunities.
Speakers will include Delegate to Congress Donna Christian Christensen and Small Business Administration representatives with additional information provided by Womens Business Center staff.
Break-out group discussions will focus on financing options, welfare reform, technology and taxes as they all relate to entrepreneurship and the small business.
The conference does require a $10 registration fee that includes lunch. The Womens Business Centers goal is to empower and inspire women to become financially independent through the development of business skills and professional relationships. Come and learn all about it and begin to think out of the box.
