The Fire Services Department's Arson Investigation and Prevention Unit has issued a list of new and increased fees that will henceforth be imposed for permits, inspections, copies of reports and other services.
They are as follows:
Certified report, $10
Burning permit, $20
Blasting or disposing permit, $100
Fireworks permit, $100
Fire extinguisher training for 10 persons, $100
New business inspection, $100
Business re-inspection, $50 to $100
Blueprint reading, $100 to $300, depending on class (Class A is structures of more than 30,000 square feet; Class B is structures of over 3,000 up to 30,000 square feet; and Class C is structures of up to 3,000 square feet.)
Blueprint reading, commercial establishments, annual gross receipts under $150,000, $100
Blueprint reading, commercial establishments, annual gross receipts $150,000 or more, $200
Blueprint re-inspection, $50-$100
Fire Services acting director Roberto Santos said his is the only government agency that has not been charging for certain services. "Implementing and increasing certain fees for services will help to procure much-needed equipment, as well as generate revenues to upgrade and enhance our training capabilities," he said.
