The V.I. Department of Health and the Interfaith Coalition of St. Croix will each receive $50,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to plan HIV care services.
V.I. Congressional Delegate Donna Christian Christensen said Thursday that the funding will come from the U.S. Department of Healths Health Resources and Services Administration to assist in planning efforts for HIV care services.
The HRSA program is funded by Ryan White Title III HIV Planning Grants. It supports communities and health care service entities in their planning
efforts to develop a high quality and broad scope of primary care services
for people in those service areas with HIV; and outreach, counseling and
testing for people at risk for HIV infection, Christensen said.
The program supports activities of the planning process and does not fund any service delivery or patient care.
The Ryan White Title III HIV Planning Grants target persons in rural/
under-served populations and African American populations living with HIV.
