To celebrate 10 years of doing business in the Virgin Islands, Coors Light and its local distributor, Bellows International, have invited Black Entertainment Television personality Rachel Stuart to be guest of honor at the public parties they're planning on St. Croix and St. Thomas.
As host of the BET network's signature music and variety program, "Planet Groove," Stuart is a familiar face in more than 55 million households. A native of Jamaica, she also hosts the BET music and travel show "Caribbean Rhythms."
Bellows is bringing Stuart to the territory as a spokesperson, marketing director Susan Warren-Ervin said, "to thank Virgin Islanders for making Coors Light the No. 1 beer in the market."
The public is invited to come out and meet her, get pictures taken with her and, while supplies last, receive an autographed poster of her at the parties, set for Oct. 19 on St. Croix and Oct. 20 on St. Thomas. Locations will be announced shortly, a release from Bellows stated.
Stuart, a former Miss Caribbean and Miss Jamaica Universe, studied for a behind-the-scenes career in television and film. A chance audition landed her at BET, where her on-camera career began as host of "Caribbean Rhythms." Today, as host of "Planet Groove," she has interviewed such celebrities as Boyz II Men, Maxwell, Mark Curry, En Vogue, LL Cool J and Erykah Badu.
