Licensing and Consumer Affairs Commissioner Andrew Rutnik will talk about licensing and industry self-regulation at the October meeting of the Association of General Contractors of the V.I.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Palms Court Harbourview.
In a release about the program, Rutnik said, "There seems to be a lot of confusion about the department's requirements and who should get what license." He said his intent at the meeting will be toward "educating practitioners" about LCA requirements.
Specifically, he said, he will address complying with licensure requirements for particular trades and professions within the construction industry, making sure workers on a site have the requisite licenses, self-regulation within the industry, and fraud.
Those wishing to attend the meeting are asked to telephone the association office at 774-8154.
