BOOTS, FINES COMING FOR CREEK PARKING VIOLATORS

0

Those who blatantly ignore the 30-minute, barge-traffic-only parking rule at The Creek can't say they haven't been warned: Police gave nearly six weeks' notice on Monday that as of New Year's Day, vehicles parked illegally at the Cruz Bay cargo dock will booted and subject to a $125 fine.
Parking in the cargo dock area is supposed to be only for half an hour maximum and only for vehicles waiting to be loaded onto barges.
Port Authority Governing Board members have received numerous complaints from residents "who are tired of the traffic congestion created by those who fail to abide by parking regulations," a release from the authority stated.
The booting and fining of illegally parked vehicles is one of several possible solutions to the traffic tie-up problem being considered "to accommodate the needs of residents," Port Authority executive director Gordon Finch said.
