ROBERT JOHNSON HIGHLY RESPECTED ON WATER ISLAND

0

Dear Source,
I am the daughter-in-law of Dr. Johnson and I wish to clarify your story regarding the boating accident in Crown Harbor Marina on Friday, 1/7/00.
Dr. Johnson does not suffer from heart disease but rather from pulmonary fibrosis. This disease has lead to previous heart attacks, although minor.
Dr. Johnson is now at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami where he is undergoing extensive treatment for a compound fracture of the femur, a punctured lung, and 2 crushed vertebras, which have rendered him paralyzed (paraplegic) as of this writing. All of our hopes and prayers are with him and Kathy, his wife. She was indeed uninjured in the accident.
His children are all coming to him in Miami as I write this… 2 sons from Michigan, a daughter and her husband and infant daughter from South Dakota and his youngest daughter, Dr. Julie Gronek MD from Colorado. Dr. Gronek is a Captain in the Air Force and is a family practice physician. He is also receiving his stepson, Dr. Kevin Croslin, MD from Atlanta. Dr. Croslin is the son of his wife Kathy.
If you are so inclined to report on his condition, please include a request for prayers for a complete recovery from his injuries, specifically for his spinal injury. He is a well liked and highly respected member of the Water Island community.
My husband and I were at your lovely island in November visiting Bob & Kathy on Water Island and it soon became very clear to me the degree of love and respect the Water Island folks have for him. I am sure they would like to know where he is and that we are all praying to God for his health and well being.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this email.
Thank you and God Bless…
Mrs. Robert "Kelley" Johnson (Kelli)
Michigan
