RAMELLE D. MARTIN GRADUATES FROM MED SCHOOL

Ramelle Dana Martin has graduated in the Class of 2000 from the Allegheny University of the Health Sciences/Medical College of Pennsylvania & Hahnemann School of Medicine in the top quintile of her class.
Martin will begin her residency July 3 at Temple University Medical Hospital of Philadelphia where she will specialize in Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.
Martin received the National Medical Association Merit Scholar Award, William R. Hearst Academic Scholarship, and the MCP*Hahnemann School of Medicine Alumni Academic Scholarship.
Martin, who was born on St. Thomas attended St. Thomas Montessori and Sts. Peter and Paul schools. She attended Spelman College in Atlanta . She later transferred to Douglas College-Rutgers University in New Jersey where she earned her BA in Biological Sciences.
According to Martin's mother Deborah Sprauve Martin, Rammelle intends to return to St. Thomas eventually and share her experience.
Rannelle said many of her family members contributed to her success by offering continual moral support. Among them she named her mother ,grandmother, Iris Maduro Martin, grandfathers, the late, Rufus Martin and Clinton A. Sprauve, great aunt and uncle, Cedric and Louise Heyliger and uncle Charles Martin.
