The new Bullseye Shooting Range and Training Academy opened as the Virgin Islands first and only indoor shooting facility. Owned and operated by Paris Nicholson, Bullseye offers a total of 31 firearms for use on the range. These include 28 handguns ranging from .22 caliber to .44 and .45 caliber, two shotguns, and one target rifle. Gun owners can also bring their own registered equipment to use in one of five firing lanes at this alcohol free facility.
Bullseye is professionally constructed says Nicholson's partner Bill Cooper. According to Cooper, the backdrop to the range is a steel bullet trap angled to absorb firepower and eliminate ricochets. Cooper also pointed out reinforced concrete walls surrounding the rest of the range and security cameras reporting to the front desk.
The shooting range requires an annual membership before use with a variety to choose from starting at $300. Bullseye also offers a variety of personal protection seminars and courses on how to use civilian weaponry.
Cooper said Bullseye provides a "one stop shop" for firearm enthusiasts. They provide eye and ear protection, guns and ammunition, 15 targets to choose from, and expert instruction.
Bullseye is located in the Claremore building on Julian Jackson Drive across from the airport. For more information call 775-3606.
