Hearings to approve projects funded with more than $2.7 million in Community Development Block Grants will now be held Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 28 and 29.
Senate President Vargrave Richards announced the change in schedule Thursday. Monday's hearings will be at the Legislature on St. Croix; Tuesday's at the St. Thomas Legislature. Both begin at 6 p.m.
In addition to Fiscal Year 2000 funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, additional monies will be reprogrammed from 1992 and 1995-99 block grants. In submitting a bill for the allocation of FY 2000 funds earlier this month, Gov. Charles W. Turnbull proposed funding 23 projects in all, nine on St. Thomas, three on St. John and 11 on St. Croix.
