MEET THE PARENTS — IT'll BE FUN!

When a mild-mannered, cat hating, male nurse with the hapless name of Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) comes to New York to "Meet the Parents," you guessed it, domestic disaster comes to the movies.
In this remake of a 1993 comedy, Focker appears to be hiding either from himself, from that absurd name, or maybe from the "parents'" cat, according to one observer. Focker is in love with Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo), but must get her father's approval to win her fair hand. The mother (Blythe Danner) is apparently a cinch.
Pops, Mr. Brynes (Robert De Niro) that is, is not your basic pushover. He is, in fact, an ex-CIA agent with hidden cameras all over his elaborate Oyster Bay home. He doesn't take kindly to anyone entering the home circle, or the "circle of truth," as he calls it, much less a male nurse with no apparent redeeming features.
Ah, the vicissitudes. Will the path of true love run smoothly, or run right the front door pursued by Pops Byrnes? Time, and a visit to Sunny Isles Theaters will tell. It begins Thursday.
The movie is directed by Jay Roach, and rated PG-13 for sexual content, drug references and language.
