Myrah Keating Smith Health Center has extended regular clinic hours to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can now be scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 8 p.m.
There will no longer be a stop in the triage room. Nursing assistants will take patients with scheduled appointments directly into the examination room where the vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) will also be taken.
Children who need school physicals may now have doctor examinations during the same visit they come for blood work, specimen drop-off and immunizations. It is still necessary for a parent (or other adult) to pick up the completed school form or leave a self-addressed stamped envelope for the completed form to be mailed. Appointments for physicals should be made ahead of time.
In order for the system to work well, the clinic is urging the entire community to plan ahead and make appointments for their health care. Unless there is a life-threatening illness, walk-ins will be seen only on a standby basis. Please note: The wait may be long if no appointment has been made.
For appointments, call 693-8900.
