The fifth annual Ruby Rutnik Memorial Softball Tournament gets under way at the Winston Wells Ball Park with interscholastic girls' competition at 3 p.m., the opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and two men's slow-pitch games after that.
Proceeds from the tournament, raised mainly through sponsorship of game innings, go toward two annual college scholarships for St. John young women.
