May 12, 2001 – A third performance of STARfest VII has been scheduled for
Monday, May 14, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.
This year's production has a theme, the first STARfest revue to do so. It's "Celebrate the Centurys Sensations." Singers, dancers, rappers and a poet showcase popular songs and singers from the 1920s through the end of the millennium.
The annual local talent revue had been held on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Mother's Day weekend in recent years, but was scheduled only for Saturday and
Sunday this time. Reichhold director David Edgecombe said earlier this month that the number of performances was cut back because in years past the Monday attendance "didnt warrant a third show."
But box office demand this time persuaded him to add the third night to accommodate demand, marketing manager Dionne Carty said in an on-line notice to the media Thursday.
Performance time all three nights is 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in the covered section, $15 and $10 in the open air, with a 50 percent discount for students in all cases. They are available at the Reichhold box office and may be purchased by charge card by calling 693-1559. To place orders online, go to Reichhold Center box office.
