PHYSICIAN TO DISCUSS HORMONES, CANCER, DIET

March 11, 2002 – As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, the University of the Virgin Islands will hold a free public forum on "Hormones, the Environment, Nutrition and Cancer" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the UVI cafeteria on the St. Croix campus.
Presenter Dr. Lovell A. Jones is an expert on cancer and its interactions with hormones and diet. He has done extensive research into the relationship between hormones, diet and endocrine-responsive tumors, and will address the issues of cancer and thyroid problems in his presentation.
Dr. Jones visits St. Croix from his position at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. He was the first director of the Center for Research on Minority Health.
The public is invited to the forum. Refreshments will be served
