April 25, 2002 – THE FULL MOON on April 26 stretches the energy between Taurus and Scorpio. It is a particular bright Moon, as it is in perigee, at its closest approach to Earth.
SUN IN TAURUS, a practical, earthy sign, revelling in the touch and feel of life. Like a tree, Taurus likes to sink its roots down into fertile soil, staying with worthwhile projects and activities to get solid results, something to show for the fruits of their labor.
MOON IN SCORPIO, the deep sea diver, plunging into the undercurrents of the subatomic realms, where energy fields intersect and transform. Strong feelings rule Scorpio, passionate with the power of Niagara Falls, though most of this intensity is hidden beneath the surface. With Scorpio, still waters run deep.
This is the BUDDHA FULL MOON, the moon under which the Buddha was born, enlightened and died, it is said. Born a prince, the Buddha renounced the good life (Taurus), seeing that death comes to all (Scorpio). Letting go of all personal desires, he tapped into the regenerative power of spiritual awareness (Scorpio), transcending the limits and sorrows of the world, and thus was able to enjoy the essential simplicity: beauty of life (Taurus). This Full Moon offers the potential insight to uproot and let go of unrewarding circumstances in your life. The process is a deep one, which requires looking squarely at what is going on with you and allowing the revitalizing power of the life force to move through you. The two weeks following the Full Moon give time for the unfolding of its illumination into our lives. Certain doors are closing so that new ones can open. Be firm about shutting those doors you no longer want to walk through.
A BUNDLE OF PLANETS
The planetary line-up is heating up! This continues to be the big news and the BEST STARGAZING in years. Keep your eye on the sky over the next few weeks, as several planets gather together. Venus, Mars and Saturn will make a close triangle, a rare and special sight as we go into the first week of May. On May 6, Venus and Mars will reenact their mythic union. Let us make sure that the goddess of love rules over the god of war in our personal lives, no matter what is happening in the world picture. It is our personal thoughts, feelings and actions that make a difference in
THE LONG RUN
That's what it's about in the Big Picture. The most important planetary dynamic going on is still the opposition of Saturn and Pluto, which indicates necessary change on the personal – and global – levels. The confrontation of these heavyweights has been stretching us into new shapes since last fall. This combination is also heating up into next month. These two make their final confrontation at the end of May, accented by their participation in the strong eclipse energy on June 10.
DOORS ARE CLOSING whether you are choosing or not. This Full Moon reminds us that we have power in creating our life circumstances no matter what is going on around us. Follow the deepest impulses of your heart.
