May 10, 2002 – "Sally's back — yippee!" That the word for "Friday Night Alternative" this weekend at American Yacht Harbor from organizer Corinne Van Rensselaer.
House keyboards and vocals artist Sally Smith was otherwise occupied for the last two Friday nights, but she'll be back in the groove on the Marlin Deck outside The Color of Joy gallery and boutique this week and for the foreseeable future. And Smith, as FNA stalwarts know, never lacks for "Friends" to stop by, sit in and add to the live music mix.
Everything else is shaping up to be "normal" this Friday night, too — the usual complimentary wine and cheese, camaraderie and scenic splendor at the sun sets and the moon rises over Vessup Bay and beyond. It all happens from 6 to 8-ish p.m. at a time and a place well situated for those heading over to St. John after a day's labors on St. Thomas.
As usual, too, FNA T-shirts will be on sale, as will tickets for May's raffle of a framed work of art from The Color of Joy. And the Red Hook Community Alliance will have an information table set up where volunteers will be selling tickets for their own fund-raiser raffle. To learn more, call 775-4020.
