May 23, 2002 May featured as Tom Joyner Foundation Scholarship drive month at the University of the Virgin Islands is drawing to a close.
Community members who have been collecting bottle caps from Coca-Cola products for UVI's "Caps for Cash" are urged to drop them off at the bins. The deadline to turn them in for UVI's benefit is noon Tuesday, May 28, according to a UVI release.
The St. John drop-off location is the Cruz Bay Police Station.
Saturday from noon to 5 there'll be a special drop-off drive at Tutu Park Mall. Other St. Thomas drop-off locations are Charlotte Amalie Fire Station, Frank's Bake Shop and UVI's public relations office on the third floor of the Classroom Administration Building.
For each six-foot-tall bin full of caps collected, Coca-Cola will donate $1,000 to UVI for student scholarships, as part of the Tom Joyner Foundation May scholarship drive.
