June 4, 2002 Thirty young women between the ages of 13 and 17 will have a unique opportunity to participate in an upcoming Summer Residential Camp on Entrepreneurship from July 7-21 at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix campus.
The camp is a team effort of the V.I. Labor Department's School-to-Work / Career Program and the Women's Business Center of the Virgin Islands, said a release from the Labor Department. The camp is designed to teach young women about entrepreneurship as a career option. The goal is to create innovative, strategic and economic investments in young Virgin Islands women.
There will be presentations on planning, marketing, and financial management skills. Workshop sessions will include business etiquette, negotiating, and related topics that provide an overview of what it takes to build and sustain a successful business.
