June 4, 2002 – The V.I. Labor Department is planning "Employer Forum and Workshop" sessions, designed to inform and educate the V.I. business community about the department's services, programs, policies and procedures, and about business owners' legal responsibilities.
The St. Croix District meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Gertrude's Restaurant.

Topics for discussion will include employer services, Occupational Safety and Health, labor relations (hearings, appeals, wrongful discharges, unfair labor practice, workers' compensation), alien labor certification, statistics, unemployment insurance, and proposed changes to existing programs affected by legislation.
Employers will have the opportunity to share their concerns and recommendations regarding the Labor Department.
The Labor Department plans to sponsor these workshops annually.
