June 20, 2002 – There's a new general manager at the Westin St. John Resort and Villas, but he's a familiar face on the property. Graeme Davis, who has served as director of operations at the resort for the last year and a half, took over from Gregg Lundberg on June 15.
Davis, 38, said Lundberg moved on to serve as director of project management for Starwood Vacation Ownership in Maui, Hawaii, where he will oversee development of two timeshare resorts in Maui and Kauai. The Westin St. John also is a Starwood property.
A native of Sidney, Australia, Davis has worked in the hotel industry since 1984, serving in various capacities at properties including the Westin Rio Mar and El Conquistador hotels in Puerto Rico.
Davis said he sees no particular challenges ahead in his new assignment — "just opportunities." He said the Westin St. John currently enjoys the highest guest satisfaction and highest employee ratings in its history, "and we keep making capital improvements." he said.
The resort's year-to-date occupancy rate stands at 90 percent, with the hotel currently running at 96 percent, he said.
Davis lives on St. John with his wife, Abigail, and their two children.
