July 12, 2002 – The Small Business Development Center of the University of the Virgin Islands, together with the V.I. Internal Revenue Bureau, will present a small business seminar on "Tax Compliance & Record Keeping: Starting and Maintaining Your Business" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at the center's training facility in Nisky Center, St. Thomas.
Admission to the seminar is free. Preregistration is requested by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.
The seminar presenters will cover topics including local and federal taxes, resident vs. non-resident, and employee vs. independent contractor. Many more questions will also be addressed. The seminar, said a release, will provide small businesspeople with what they need to know to about tax compliance and recordkeeping for their businesses.
The center is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and such funding does not constitute an endorsement of any co-sponsors or participants, said the release. The UVI-SBDC is committed to the policy of providing equal opportunity for all persons.
