July 15, 2002 – The Supreme Court Fellows Commission is accepting applications for the 2003-2004 Fellows Program.
The program provides a unique opportunity for students with outstanding disciplinary backgrounds who show potential for future contributions to the judiciary system. Fellows are given the opportunity to work for the Federal Judiciary Center, the Supreme Court, the U.S. Senate Commission, or the administration office of the U.S. Courts.
The Program is a one-year appointment, beginning in August or September, as an employee of the Supreme Court system, receiving a salary equivalent to a GS-15/3 and offering eligibility for federal employee health and life insurance programs, according to a release from Delegate to Congress Donna Christiensen.
To quality, candidates must have at least one post-graduate degree, two or more years of professional experience with a record of high achievement, multi-disciplinary training and experience, including familiarity with judicial process, original and flexible thinking, accompanied by a high degree of motivation, excellent speaking and writing abilities, as well as trustworthiness and a commitment to serving the federal judiciary.
The application must be submitted by November 11, 2002. Additional information and an application form can be obtained from the website www.fellows.supremecourtus.gov.
